Rear Disk Differences from 82-02

I realize that all thirdgen 10 bolt shells were the same with the difference being updated disk brakes in 89. However are the mounts (for the DISK brakes) all the same? Can I bolt 2002 rear disks onto an 82 rear disk 10 bolt? If not, what years were the mounts the same from 82-02? I ask this because as I swap my rear I want 89+ disks and I would like to know if I could settle for an 82-88 disk rear and swap the 89+ disk brakes onto it. Or even better, swap newer (98+) disk brakes to it. I do not want a 4th gen rear.

Thanks
Andy

While I can't say for sure, but what I can tell you is that the Wilwood brakes I bought for my car are listed for 4th gen cars only but they bolted up to my 1984 (disc) rear axle just fine with no modifications. This being said it is likely that they are the same.

I hope this is good news for you.

Cool. And when I said 89+ I really meant it, so like 89-2002. They interchange through the whole run?

My experience is with the 89-92 (and by extension 93-97) PBR's. Here's a link, however, that might provide the info you require:
