broken vacuum line

Well, yeah, I broke the vacuum line from the intake to the brake booster that enters the intake under the throttle body. When it broke it was right up on the fitting and that part of the two piece fitting is useless now cuz the metal line is permanatly attached to it. The part has been discontinued from GM (big surprise) so i ordered a line for the small block truck. Well the truck line in bigger and the thread is bigger on the fitting. Anyhow, before I have something custom fabbed, or pull an old one off another car, does ANYBODY know of a company that I can buy a new one from cuz' GM aint got it. Anyother suggestions or solutions are welcome as well. Right now im running a air compressor fitting with a 3/8 rubber hose connecting the old line and the fitting. and that can collapse which is really dangerous. HELP!

No, it won't collapse.

That same sort of rubber line is what the last half of your line has always been.

I wouldn't worry about it.

If you want to harden it a little bit though, use power steering line of fuel injection line instead of the weenie type of hose; or, get some 3/8" steel brake line, and make a line out of that, and just use little pieces of rubber hose as connectors, like the factory did nearer the booster.
