few questions regaurding the bolts and holes on the C5 spindle mod
Ive got a lot of info in front of me pertaining to the mods needed to be done to the spindle in order for the C5 brakes to work but I think some of it may be wrong. this is what I have for the spindle mod
the two holes need to be retapped with a 7/16ths-13 standard thread. Do I need to first drill through these holes to remove the old threads and then use a 7/16ths tap? is that all thatis needed to be done to these holes in preperation for the bracket? If that is correct then I take it that all I need to do is get 4 7/16ths bolts right? If not then is there a standard size bolt and tap you guys are all using that is proven to work?
Also, I take it that the bolts I need for the bracket to abutment are M14-2.0 x 35mm allen head bolts which should be easy to find at either the dealer or a hardware store.

ok did somemore searching and I guess the 7/16" bolt is the best bet since its a standard common size bolt. Now I take it that I shuould get this size bolt with a high thread count since they are stronger right?

7/16-14 will be fine and plenty strong enough, easier to locate if you need one as well. Drill a 3/8" hole, tap with 7/16"
I use socket head Allen bolts for the 14mm bolts, the GM factory 14mm bolts will be too long and are about $5 each.

Ed, I really need to get in contact with ya. You are the conversion guru and I am lost, sorta. I am trying to aquire sellers for all the parts that I need, but don't know if I am just wasting my time and eventual $. How mush would you charge for C5 front, and LS1 rear. After all is said and done. I have spindles that I can mod but I would like hubs. Thanks for any help. I also e-mailed you at your website. Thanks.
