spinning on ice....

OK. I venture my IROC out today in the ice basically just the neighborhoods are still bad.
The problem I'm having (and I have the same problem with my other camaro) is on Ice when I press the brakes the back wheels still spin... How do i correct this or is it just something I need to learn to live with?
the brakes 'seem' to work fine on dry ground....

Fix the rear brakes, and put the car in neutral when you're stopping on ice.

I have the same prob, ur rears are either out of adjustment or worn out. Do a rea brake job, and adjust them. I got away with this by putting the car in neutral, but is a safety hazard. Basically if they arent stopping now, they arent stopping on the road, and ur fronts will wear prematurely and could get you into trouble. This is assuming you have drums. Is your brake pedal spongey?

I haave this problem when my car hasnt warmed up right. Its idling high and the rears are drum so the fronts are locked and the backs are spinning until the car warms up right.

he has drums 85 iroc...... no disc.... and its because its drums... if he had a stall converter then this problem wouldn't occur..... the car always wanted to "go" at a stop light when stopped... too small of a stall...
