has been a major issue to my car, im talking from cleaning the wheels and after a full day of driving having my front wheels look like they are painted black. what causes so much break dust? i know its an older car so its going to happen but ive had other older cars with alot less break dust than this one, what can i do to stop the brake dust? would be upgrading to a larger brake setup get rid of the problem? let me know. thanks.

the pads are where most of the dust comes from, a very small amount comes from rotor wear.
you can try changing to a higher quality pad which should help, think something carbon metallic.

i use the Wagner SX series pads on my car & i have very little dust.
the carbon metallic pads don't stop as well as standard pads do when cold, but they do work better when hot.
carbon metallic pads aren't cheap, depending on if you get a discount & how much it is where you buy from, expect to pay anywhere from $60.00 to 120.00 for for a set.
a side benefit of carbon metallic is longer life, with the Wagner MX pads i was getting around 12~15,000 miles out of them, with the SX pads i get around 50~60,000.
of course the harder you are on your brakes, the more they wear & the most dust you get.
