C5 Caliper questions
I have a couple questions that I haven't been able to answer using the search.
1. What is the difference between the C5 caliper and the C5 Z06 caliper other than the bright red paint? Is the Z06 bigger? stronger?
From the pictures that I have found the black C5 calipers look just like the C5 Z06 other than the color.
2. Is it possible to mount front calipers on the Rear LS1 backing plates? I know this may sound dumb but I want things to look more uniform. I know I would probably need to get the adjustable proportioning valve to make sure Im not getting to much rear breaking.
3. I want to shave off the corvette lettering on the calipers and replace it with stickers that say CAMARO. Any idea what the best way to do this would be so that they hold up and dont burn off or flake off from the heat??? I was thinking that getting some vinly stickers made and then putting a clear coat paint over it to help hold it all on there. Think that will work?

Re: C5 Caliper questions
#1: No difference except for the powdercoat;
#2: No you can't, that's why they make rear calipers;
#3: You can buy calipers without the logo or just shave them off. I've used a 12" rotatary sander and a steady hand, works great.

Re: C5 Caliper questions
1. Cool, that should save me some money.
2. Whats the difference between them though? I know the C5s the rears are single piston, but would it hurt to have a stronger caliper in the rear? Ill look again but Im pretty sure that some of the big break upgrades from Baer use the same or simlar calipers front and rear, and if you look on some of the exotics they look the same front and rear? If its just a mater of the bracket needing to be modified thats fine, but I dont want to go through that if its not going to work for some other reason.
3. Any thoughts on the CAMARO stickers? What would hold up well?

Re: C5 Caliper questions
That's overkill...too much rear brake will throw the balance off. Concentrate on the fronts as they do the most of the work.
