Re: drum to ls1 disk swap questions

I have yet to do this myself, but i am swapping my disk setup for the ls1 setup. Check out the faqs, there is a good article about doing just what you want to do. I'd advise you to get new parts like rotors, pads and some ss brake lines, but plastic would be fine. Aside from that follow the tech article and enjoy the better braking power.

Re: drum to ls1 disk swap questions

you need the complete brake assembly from the doner car, backing plates, ebrake parts, mounting bolts, rotors and caliper. you will need flex lines for a disc brake third gen and you can make your stock lines work, but maybe get a new set of lines for a disc car. parking cables will not work neither will the ones off the doner car, they need to be custom made. currently edmiller is working on cables, and im waiting for them as well. just follow the tech article. only thing different, the two existing small holes from your drums line up perfectly with the ls1 backing plates so you can drill them out first, then bolt the plate on with two bolts. it will make drilling and locating the top two holes much easier than the clamping method in the tech article. i dont think i left anything out. this should give you a good start. i do believe you need a disc/disc prop valve too.

good luck!
