1988 4th gen brake ?'s
i just have a couple of quick questions. i have a 1988 camaro converted to a v8 and the v6 brake in the front are not cutting it any more. i have 17' iroc replicas on the car and i would like to keep them. i just bought all tubular front suspension and would also like to keep that. is this going to be possble and what would i need? thanks john

There are several routes you can take here, you can go for the 1le brakes, which I believe are the same as c4 corvette brakes, or close to it at least. Then there is the option of running 4th gen camaro or c5 corvette brakes. The 4th gen brakes would work with factory 16inch weeks, and c5 need a 17inch minimum sized rim, which you already have. Take your choice which way you'd like to go with it, the 4th gen brakes would end up cheaper to get parts for, ie rotors, pads, etc. The c5's would offer a tad more braking power and fill up the space between your wheels more.
Most require the same modifications to the spindles, and require the use of brackets. There are many ways to go about this, buy them or build them yourself. Check out some of the stickies and faqs and you will get all the info you need to do the swap.
