brake pins
brake pins
on the drum break shoe installation i had to wait to get my parts ordered in from autozone now sometime within this process someone decided to throw out my old break shoes that i had already removed while i waited on the hardware to come in. now i dont seem to have the piece to put the e brake lever to the primary brake shoe, i bought a kit for the springs etc but it doesnt have the piece in it either....http://www.autozone.com/R,APP1346206...ductDetail.htm
link is for the kit i am planning on buying to hopefully solve this issue, is the small circular thing in the middle of the picture the "pin" that im looking for? i cant seem to find anything on this anywhere on the web. i do still have the old "pins" as shown in the picture and some new ones from the other kit. but they wont fit into the holes on the brake shoes or into the e brake lever

Re: brake pins
The small round pice in the middle goes inside the auto adjuster piece on the sec shoe; then the little short spring that goes over the pin, goes on top of that, then the washer looking piece with the keyhole in the middle.
Those 2 hardware kits are SO CHEAP, I hardly even even bother re-using them. The 2 together were about $20 or so to do BOTH sides last time I needed some, maybe a year or so ago; nowhere near $50.
I'm not sure what part you're talking about that's missing. Is it in either of those kits?

Re: brake pins
the piece i was talking about was in neither kit i did end up buying both just to make sure( can always use extra parts), however after digging through boxes in autozone i did end up gettin ahold of the part i was missing from another brake shoe box they had in the back. with a slight modification to the size of it it fit right in and worked out fine
