LS1 brakes on a 9 bolt question

Ok, so I have my LS1 plates redrilled to fit the holes on the axle. Everything lines up beautifully. My only question is about the spacer that folks have made. I have no access to a machine shop so I cant get all trick like some. I did notice that the space I need to shim is the exaxt size of the axle seal. Can I simply put a second seal behind the first to shim this? Please let me know, thanks!

Well, the thickness you need is the difference between the 9 bolt plate and the LS1 plate.
If indeed the seal is that thickness, then yes.
How would you put it on? Press the bearing off and add two seals?

Actually I took a new seal and filled it with JB weld. Once it hardens i will cut it like yours.

Sounds feasable, make sure it is the right thickness.

I made mine with a couple of hole saws. The extra sheet metal shim isnt needed one 1/4" spacer will work fine. Check out this thread and note I linked in one of my posts to another thread so check that out too and you should be fine
