Rear Braided Line Install Question
I bought Russell's braided brake line kit, and I noticed rear brake line (the single one that breaks off into two lines right at the axle) was meant for an lines. Meaning that a male flare was needed to complete the seal on the hard lines when connected inside the T-block, but hard lines have a female flare. I know I should get two an3 to hard line adapters to make everything work properly. But my question is, who just screwed the hard lines straight into the T block? Any leak problems?

Re: Rear Braided Line Install Question
The kit is for a rear drum brake thirdgen, came with 3 lines, the 2 fronts and the single rear with the Y block. All the lengths are correct and everything else is fine except for this flaring issue. I figure most people who buy this kit just jam the 2 together not looking or not realizing they need an adaptor.

Re: Rear Braided Line Install Question
Did you call them. They have a tech line, I found the # on the internet. Russell is a division of Eldebrock. I would call them, maybe the wrong fitting was put on the line?

Re: Rear Braided Line Install Question
I reread your first post. You bought new axle hard lines, right?
There are two basic brake line flare types. One is a Metric bubble flare, the other is an inverted flare. Pics of both are at the bottom of this page.

Your third gen hard lines should have the Metric bubble flare to fit inside the "T" block, not the AN style you think. Some 4th gen line fittings still use the inverted flare but not our cars. Make sure you match the right styles or you will have leaks.
