brake line sizes (esp. body line)?

OK i am getting very frustrated with an unsaid parts store now....ordered me a parking brake cable instead of rubber flex line, ordered wrong wheel cylinders blah blah blah. Now i find that the replacement flex line (fjrom body to axle) has SAE threads at one end and metric at the other! I read here on TGO that after 83 these cars went to metric but then why 2 different threads at either end of the same hose? And apparently the wheel cylinders could be metric too.....but would then apparently go back to SAE at the rubber line and then back to metric up to the front of the car from the other end of the rubber line  Something seems whacked

What size is the line coming from the front of the car (mine is an 85)? It appears to be metric threads going into the rubber flex line and it has to be bigger than 3/16 to feed both rear lines after the split, but is it a metric line or an SAE line with a metric fitting?

If someone can clear up all this mess i would be very grateful!
