So.... i've been wanting to upgrade my brakes since well .... i got the car, so right now im lowered about 2 inches all the way around and i want get some drop spindles so that i can have the car lowered the way i like, withought the excesive roll from lowering the front roll center, i'm planning on going to spohn coilovers, so i can adjust ride height so that its still only 2 inches lower after the dropspindles do there thing, and drop another 2 inches or so


but from what i've read it seems like you need to mod. the stock spindles to except the bigger ls1 brakes, so is this possible with any drop spindle. whats involved in this modification? i work at a machine shop and have access to a MILL, and other machines. i wont be happy with a good handling car that can't brake or a good braking car that can't handle. i want both!

So whats everyone doing? does anyone sell any drop spindles that work with ls1 brakes, its hard enough just to find dropspindles for stock brakes.


i read some post about racecraft drop spindles, and edmiller putting together some brake combos that will work with the spindles, but no final word on that.

 

just e-mail ed I am pretty sure he already has that figured out. racecraft was supposed to change some stuff on there too to make it a little easier. I quit foloowing the drop spindle thread but it was talking about this a while back.

Anyone have anything good or bad to say about drop spindles?

 

they are expensive and the ground control kits (spring seats, similar to a coilover only you leave the struts and shocks where they are and install different springs)seem to be a better buy because of the adjustability.
