Brake bracket bolts backed out on the interstate...

So I was driving my 91 RS down the interstate today ( moving) and the two bolts that hold the right rear caliper & bracket to the axle bracket backed out completely while driving 80. The caliper fell down into the wheel and started spinning with the wheel. It completely ripped the parking brake cable and rubber brake hose into shreds. The back end started jumping all around. I thought I broke an axle or drive shaft or something. Has this every happened to anyone????

I had a bottom bolt back out of a front caliper and then had to drive almost 40 miles home with 1 bolt it was the most nerve racking thing I have ever done!

Wait no it was the top bolt because it flopped into the rim and made a nice line around it. Then I spent like 3 weeks without the car because no one could get me a bolt, C5 ZO6 front break conversion so it wasn't a stock bolt. I finally found the place that manufactured the bolts that were used in the conversion and I ordered 3 or 4 of them from them.

I had the top bolt fall out of a front caliper on my truck. It cut a big grove in my wheel. Luckily I had tools to get the caliper off & tied up so I could get to the parts store.

I couldnt' find any parts store with the brake hose and definitely not the bolts. I could have fixed it if I had those two. I tried plugging the line but no one had a fitting that was flared.

I blew a tire at 70 mph. Fortunately there was only one other person on the road a fair bit behind me. Back end got real squirrely, but managed to pull it over on the side of the road.

I just had one of the caliper adapter bracket bolts back out on me the other day. Luckily it was the lower one so driving forward it stayed glued to the rotor and only when I backed into garage did I hear the weird grinding noise.
