C5 brakes on 16" ?
I know I look long enough I could find this but save me some time. Will C5 brakes fit behind stock 16" Iroc. I am just looking to put the biggest brakes possible behind the stock wheels. Give link to blue prints for brakets also.

C5s won't fit 16" wheels but the 13" C4 HDs will, as will a 13" a custom Wilwood 4 piston kit. These are about the biggest you can fit in there.

I was told by someone on here, forget who (have to check PMs) that they fit a pair of C5's behind the 91/92 5 spoke wheel, by trimming the stiffening ribs on the caliper. I bought the kit, and intend to do that this winter... I would assume you have less clearance in an IROC wheel though...

I don't like the idea of cutting off the stiffening ribs. Wouldn't that be dangerous in weakening the caliper?

Honestly, I wouldn't think so, but I'm far from an engineer. It was only to make the ribs portion even to the rest of the casting. Since the LS1 doesn't have as much in this area, it might be (as) necessary for them. I guess we'll see.
