Re: LS1 brake conversion
i have ls1 kit and is doing the job, no problem with contact or shipping, all parts are good quality. it is good to take steel brake lines, and change brake fluid to a better one like Motul RBF600, with ordinary fluid those brake are not as good as they should be

Re: LS1 brake conversion
My setup is just about complete. I have made everything myself. I turned the rotors on the brake lathe to get a hub, modified my spindles, made brackets out of steel and cut them out with a plasma cutter. It is a fun process. Everyone at work has been telling me that it won't work. Then I get something done, and they are like, wow that's cool. Everyone said the same thing when I did the motor swap too. I think it's funny. Anyway, just wanted to share. So when people tell you it can't be done, just try harder to prove them wrong.

I don't know if anyone makes a kit for that. The LT1 brakes aren't really that good from what I hear in the first place. I'd probably wait on a LS1 conversion or just stick some good pads on the stockers.

Yep, don't waste time trying to fit LT1 FRONT brakes, they're no better than your stock setup.

Re: LS1 brake conversion
It's not all that expensive. So far I have $50 into my set. Why I did, I cut off the rotor part with a brake lathe and just ran the outside in all the way. Then I took a hammer to seperate the rotor from the hub. Then I turned the drum cutting tool around and machined the hub. It took me about 45 minutes for the first one, getting the machine set up, and about 20 min on the second while working on other vehicles. Then I just installed longer studs. $14 from napa.

That seems to be the most popular and well liked. I just didn't feel like spending the money on something I could do.
