help with brakes

Here is the deal- 92 firebird vert. Family fun car- speed limit in KY is 70- no need for 1200 brake package. I have searched and have not found a clear answer to my questions.

I am wanting a brake upgrade without going broke.

I have stock routers with stock 1 piston calipers. I am looking at drilled and slotted routers in this kit

Power Stop 8213XPR-KT

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...958+4294922533

I am also wanting to replace the calipers. I was looking at these.

Bendix SLO55286

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

They look like dual piston calipers. Can I change them out to this. If so will these pads and router work. Will I have to swap out my master brake cylinder? I just need a brake upgrade with new calipers.

I am running some 15" american racing wheels that are new so I don't want to go with a bigger system. But I would like the best option I can get with my wheels- and without Braking my Bank. Any ideas?

Re: help with brakes

the picture is just a representation and not the actual part. There are no 2 piston calipers that will bolt in place of the factory brakes on your current spindles.

While the speed limit is 70, being able to stop quickly can be the difference between life and death in some cases.
If you want to upgrade the front brakes, there is no reason why you should not swap to at least a 12" ls1 setup. Its a larger rotor and a 2 piston aluminum caliper and it will give you a great boost in braking power compared to the crap stock brakes. they upgrade will run about 600bux, or if you do the work your self and find some good deals on parts it can cost a bit less.

Just noticed you 15" wheels, that could br tricky, send a PM to "ebmiller" here on TGO, he can give you some good insight on what you can do and may be able to set you up with a good setup.
