85 Ta brake conversion

85 Ta brake conversion

I have an 85 trans am with drum brakes and the local junk yard has a whole rearend in a 85 camaro with disc brakes. there both 10 bolts so i was wondering if i could just take the brake assembly off that rearend and put it on mine or are the housings ends different? i would just buy the whole rearend but mine already has 373 gears moser axles and a fresh auburn posi so i dont really need the parts. I know i will have to change the proportioning valve and master cylinder but other than that should this swap work?

Different. You'd have to mod your axle flanges to make it work.

What exactly is involved? i cant find anything on this but i did see the article where the rear lt1 brakes bolted right on with a special bracket. the other rearend im lookin at should have the right bracket i need for mounting the calipers. Anyone elses input?
