front brake upgrade to match lt1 rear

ok. i know this question has been asked before, but the more i read i think the more I get the brakes confused. I've got a 4th gen rear that im going to be stripping to install into my 83 rear that I just got (4th is in the car and I dont like the looks) but it brakes weird with the bigger brakes in the back. If i remember right the later RSs had bigger front brakes than my iroc, but they get different spindles? The reason I ask is theres one at a bone yard near me and I could get the spindles and brakes cheap, as I dont have the cash for the c4 upgrade yet.

There are two fourthgen rears, the LT1 (93-97)and LS1 (98+).

All thirdgen front brakes are the same, to include spindles: Delco-Moraine iron calipers with 10.5" rotors. The exception is the 1LE, which had dual piston alum calipers and 11.7" rotors.

BTW, the 1LE set-up and its alum calipers will match the LT1 rear and its PBR's.

No. If you're going from drum to disc, swap the proportioning valve for best brake performance. You'll need to consider e-brake and the drive and/or driven gears as well. Check the following FAQ (toward the bottom) for more info:
