power brakes to manual
hey guys, i need more stopping power on my 85 race car. my engine doesn't make nearly enough vacuum to run the power brakes and it feels near impossible to stop. i also have a 28 spline ford 9 in the car with crown victoria disc brakes on the rear. i know i can use the master cylinder for the 3rd gens that came with rear disc but will it work if i remove the booster? or is there a better master cylinder to use? i want to keep the costs down also and fab what i can myself (as far as brackets etc.) thanks for any help...

i put a strange master on mind with a wilwood adj prop valve to the rear disc. stops fine. You do have to fab up a bracket though to mount it to the firewall.

Kens86... What size of bore strange mastercylinder did you go with?
i purchased a strange 1.125 m/c from ed quay, and i sent my pedal to them for modification too.)I'm running the 1.125 with the stock 1le front and rear brakes and it dosnt want to stop very well. damn scary actually.

Re: power brakes to manual
i have the smaller one. i believe it's the 1.031. it stops fine but you do definitly have to pay attention while driving. i have stock 86 camaro front brakes and rear disc brakes off a 94 camaro. i'm a big guy, 6.6/300lbs, so pushing the is much of a problem. i wish i would have known about the Ed Quay kit before i did mine. i had to fab everything myself.
