Affordable Rotors
Time for the old brake job. However, I am interested in upgrading to drilled and slotted rotors. I don't really care about brands, after searching around it seems that the Summit brand is the cheapest I could find.

And Jegs has a good deal but I couldnt find any for the front.

I dont know much about the brake market so any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Affordable Rotors
I just replaced my rear rotors. If you do some searches in this section you will find out for stock applications most of the guys in here with lots of experience will steer you away from drilled and slotted rotors. The posts I read changed my mind anyway. They state that the holes and slots actually create less friction area, therefore worse braking conditions. I had my mind set on the same choices as you, mainly because they just look cool! So I just went to Napa and bought mine. They are 11.6 rotors for the 9-bolt with PBR calipers. I only paid about $65 each and thats because I upgraded to the ones that have the hats and veins coated to prevent rust. Regulars ones are even cheaper. Napa also has the drilled and slotted ones on their website but I don't remember the price of them.

The theory of less friction area crossed my mind, but then I am reminded that Vettes and Vipers and Ferraris have drilled and slotted rotors and the pros must out weigh the cons. However, I will research this more.

Those cars have a lot larger disc than a stock maro. Plus those car use multi piston calipers.

Re: Affordable Rotors
get the ones you want..just look into the diff brands..
some are better then others.. check out ebay..
your not driving a 8 sec drag car.. or 200mph left turn car..
60 holes in them ..will not make a diff on the street and they will run cooler..
but Buy what you would like to Buy.
