C6 fronts, LS1 rear disks, LOTS of pedal travel! Help.

So I finally got to converting my brakes system. The car is a 1992 RS Camaro which had drums in the rear. I did the LS1 rear swap, front GTO/C6 calipers w/ C5 rotors and braided steel flex lines on all four corners. The axle drop line is still rubber, but it's fairly new.

Problems: I get tons of pedal travel, almost bottoming out the pedal, before the fronts and what seems like only the fronts get pressure. The rears don't seem to be getting pressure. I bled the brakes a few times, but could there still be air in the system? Should I flush the fluid? I know I need a prop valve, although, I read through searching that I can use the stock valve, but that doesn't seem to be working. Is my current/stock MC compatible with my new settup? Thanks, guys!

sounds like air. how are you bleeding the system? did you let the system drain while working? if so the master has air in it and needs to be bench bled

Ahh ok. I thought I would have to since the lines were left open for a few days. By open I mean the car was on jacks and the rear was out while i worked on it and left the lines unconnected. My dad and I bled them using the pump a few times, hold, release the pressure deal. Would bench bleeding still be needed even if the MC still had a lot of fluid in it even after the lines were left open? Thanks!

no, so long as the fluid didnt all run out of the reservous, you are fine there. Use a suction bleeder, it works much better than pumping the pedal. they are pretty cheap too.

That sounds like a plan. I didn't even think about that, nor did my pops who used to be a brake specialist. Thanks again!
