PBR Brake Cables
I've spent alot of time here lately searching for a solution to my brake cable problem. The Brakeware C1647 cables that i bought from Autozone just didn't seem to fit right. the stock routing of the driver side seemed alittle tight and the Pass side cable just didn't seem to fit at all. After my searching i found alot of people confused with no clear cut solution so i deside try and make the ones i had work enfasise on the word TRY.
I cut off 6" off of the tranny tunnel side of the cable. pulled the cable out of the conduit and remover the spring. I cut the helper spring to 2 1/4" then put the cable and spring back into the conduit.
I then reconnected the two pieces using two 1/8'' cable clamps on each cable. I made the cable from the end of the conduit (tranny tunnel side) 12"
after i installed the cables and routed them the way i wanted them rounted i pulled on the e-brake a few times each time trying to turn the axels with a breaker bar each time i could not rotate the axels. After i releast the e-brake handle the brakes releast and i was able to rotate the axles by hand.

sorry about the links i tried to up load pics but it wouldn't let me
DISCLAIMER: the only test that i have done to find out if this works is to try and turn the axels with a breaker bar with the e-brake on. I have not had the car on the road yet to really test this.

Re: PBR Brake Cables
Or you could purchase direct-fit cables from Ed Miller's site:

Re: PBR Brake Cables
It looks like your car had drum brakes b4.
You should delet your old E brake cable mounting hardware and change your old E-cable routing plan.
The routing of your new cables should be strait back, over the rearend, then curve down to the left or right and follow the axle tubes to the calipers.
