automatic adjustor
ok this maybe a dumb question but i figure i will ask. i am doing work on my 86 iroc with disc fronts and drum rear brakes. i have the chevy service manual(thanks ebay) which list one cause of a long brake pedal as being a "faulty automatic adjustors". i look in the manual on how to check and also fix this problem, but nothing that i see. are they talking about the same manual adjustor in the rear drum? thanks in advance!!!!!

The little toothed wheel on the shaft that you turn to take up slack when you put new shoes on is actually part of the self-adjusting mechanism.

Re: automatic adjustor
How do you remove the e-brake cable from the lever in side the car. I have the entire center console out and lever and ratcheting mech. unbolted I can swivel it around to get alot of slack on the cable but theres a little tab holding the cord down at the end, and at the end of the cord (it looks like a bicycle brake cable) with a cylinder in a metal cut out but its pushed against another medal plate no way to wiggle it out. IDk what to do pry the metal plate away?
