Rear drum to disk conversion question

Ok, I have gathered all I think I need except e-brake cables. I took a set of rear disk brakes off of a Blazer 4wd (drum ebrake). I got everything except e-brake cables. I saw a LTI camaro and it had brake cable ends that looked the same for what I need. Is this the application I am looking for?

Also, can I put my system together and use my disk/drum master and prop valve until I get my hydro boosted LS1 master and adjust prop valve setup finished? (still collecting a few parts)

EDIT: The car is an 83 Z28. The parking brake cable mounts to the bottom of the backing plate on the blazer brakes but has the same rectangle cable end that the caliper mounted LT1 cars do.

For the drum to disk conversion to work correctly you'll have to install a matching disk/disk proportioning valve.

Question is, why put off your plans for the hydo boost and an adjustable proportioning valve?

I have to get the car rolling to bring it out of the garage and paint the t-top area and door jamb areas I repaired. The hydro boost/LS1 master/LS1 front brake conversion stuff will be done before it hits the road.

I just put a 5spd in it and I need an ebrake so it wont roll around.

Then you really dont need it road worthy yet? Just a working e-brake? For that you dont need a proportioning valve either but if you do and dont want to fork out the cost of a new disk/disk valve, you can go on the cheap and install a used disk/disk valve as they dont ususally wear out. Try the classifieds on this site or a wrecking yard.

Good luck with your project

Re: Rear drum to disk conversion question

Does anyone know if the later PBR style ebrake cable will work, or if LT1 cables will work?
