rear disc upgrade

i just recently put a new rear in my car out of a firebird . was told a 89. it is a 9 bolt with the old iron calibers. when i am on wet grass i can put the car in drive and hold the brake with no throtle the rear tires will spin. i did do the prop valve and i have it wide open and i am getting plenty break fluid at the calibers.is there an easy fix or do i need to replace them.
also i was wondering if i could swap the newer 4th gen ls1 brakes on ther easy
thanks

The rear, if an 89 with discs, would have PBR's, not the old style Delco-Moraines. The Delco-Moraines have a reputation for being unreliable if the parking brake isn't used frequently. The following site sells the 'fix it' kit (I'd probably just replace the calipers if indeed they do require the kit):

http://www.flynbye.com/catalog/i208.html

The LS1's are set up for a 10-bolt. I don't know of any kit/equipment that will allow a swap.

Sure, the above site sells 9-bolt backing plates and PBR's.

Re: rear disc upgrade

if i was to buy the 9bolt backing plates would the 4th gen ls1 brakes bolt up to them. just trying to get away with this cheap as possible ive seen the prices of new pbr's.

See post #2. Note that the PBR kit is a bit cheaper than the LS1 kit from Ed's site.
