PBR Chirp

Please help me before I lose my mind. I run an 89 PBR setup on my 12-bolt. I noticed a "pulsating chirp" on one side. After hours of trying to isolate the noise, I found it coming from the springs/clips at the trailing edge of the pad (not the wear indicator), where it contacts the caliper. I've tried PB Blaster and simple oil, but to no avail. What could I use to stop the chirp?

Thanks for the help,
Eric

Re: PBR Chirp

I use dialectic (silicone) grease on the brake parts. This is on the sliders, pins and so on. Not sure if it will work or not. Is the rotor possibly warped?

RBob.

Re: PBR Chirp

I verified w/ a new rotor that it isn't warped. I can make the noise occur by moving the caliper laterally, put my ear right next to the caliper and heard it from the clips. I'll try your suggestion and maybe tighten a few bolts too.

Thank you for the advice.

Re: PBR Chirp

After another round with the flashlight and trained ear, I realized I could not actually pinpoint the noise. Spot-lubing didn't prove very helpful either, so I shot the entire assembly aft of the pads with PB Blaster. No more chirp.
