1LE BRAKES HELP

i just ordered the complete 1LE front brakes from hawksthirdgenparts.com and im having trouble on the spindle modification im just nervouse ill Fxxx up my spindles and i was thinkin if it would be cheaper to get sum corvette spindles or try to hunt sum down here on the site or buy the 1LE cd-rom i should be geting them this friday so let me know ur opinions or sugestions

If typing complete words like "some" and "your" is too much effort for you, then the spindle modification is a no-go.

Take a printout of the hole thread specifications, and your spindles, to a machine shop and a few bucks should get you back in business.

wham!!! that's telling it LOL

Anyway, Corvette spindles won't even fit. They are set up for double a arms and even then, the corvette abutments mount different that the 1LEs. The 1LE is unique in that way w/ curved abutments to clear the rotor and narrow mounting pattern.

Long ago I completed the 1LE conversion, and like you I was somewhat apprehensive (so I purchased a second set of spindles of a yard--oh, and I bought the 1LE CD). All said and done, however, the swap wasn't that big of a deal. Go slowly and with purpose and you'll be fine. Check post #7 of the following link for a 'cutting' diagram:
