83 rear disk

I'm doing a full brake job and noticed that the passenger rear has a rubber hose going to the caliper and the driver side is a hard line is this factory? I also wanted to upgrade to BSS hoses and seen kits with 3,4 and 5 hoses all for the same car.

Yes.

Four lines (two to the front calipers, one to the rear center and one to the rear caliper).

No, that line is hard. Sometimes pics aren't really representative of what you're purchasing. An 89-92 car with 4-wheel disc brakes, for example, would have five lines, as both rear calipers are equipped with a soft line.

EDIT: Check this site for a 4-line:

Re: 83 rear disk

i really like to remind people to replace the soft line that sits on the diff and then goes to the rear calipers,,everyone always replaces the two front and rear caliper soft rubber hoses,,but always forget that center hose...in some cases ,,it up to 25+ years old..needs to be replaced .

Re: 83 rear disk

I picked up a 1984 3.73 disc rear to put on my 86 so I can ditch the drum brake 2.73 gears on it. Figured I would put new pads, calipers, rotors, and lines on. That center hose was very hard and cracked up on the 84 axle. Got all my lines at NAPA, was pretty cheap.
