Dana 44 Brakes?
Hey all,
As some of you might know i scored big when i thought i had a 10bolt that turned out to be a Dana 44,the rear is painted the new cover is on and now i'm to the point where i wanna see what i can do with the brakes before it goes in.
I took some pics and measurements the rotors seem to be 12inches,i really didn't know what to take pictures of so i'm not sure what you guys are gunna be able to do for me lol.I plan on putting new pads, getting the rotors cut and possibly new calipers.
What setup does this appear to be?
If you need me to take more pictures just let me know of what and i'll go nd take more..
Thanks again

Re: Dana 44 Brakes?

Re: Dana 44 Brakes?
I think, I heard that the dana 44 has a 10 bolt axle flange. Probably wanna confirm that but that can point you in the right direction. Those do look like the iron calipers, standard till 1988. Only those were offered in only 10.5 inch rotors. No third gen came factory with 12 inch rear discs and iron calipers. Probably adapted from some other application.

With a 10-bolt axle flange, both the 82-88 iron Delco-Moraine and the 89+ alum PBR set-ups are bolt-ons with the correct backing plates, etc.
