The car is setup for drag, not a street car, 92 z28 1LE, cant fab any rear brakes to fit currently with 15" wheels, might have to go aftermarket, but thats $$$ wondering if anyones brave and drag racing with no rears and what they think

You setup a 1LE car for drag only. Talk about ironic.

I doubt your local tech inspection will let you on the track with no rear brakes. You may want to check out the NHRA rule book.

Functionally you will probably be fine as the rears only do about 30% of the stopping any way. How fast are you planning to go?

 

I sent you a reply in another thread. You rear wheels I believe are the problem. They have alot of clearance issues, search them on ls1tech.com

 

I know.. I have owned a 89rs t top 83z28 92rs and the 92z28, just have happened to get my 92z 3rd and have owned it for 5 1/2 years now, trying to leave as much of the 1LE stuff in as possible but i do know the irony, if it makes u guys feel better i took it into a wall with fiberglass fenders & hood when i was about 21, so it than had to be Chopped cut and rebuilt. new rad support and 1 rail. cars been under construction a long time now, i like to drag race, and driving on the street isn't so smart for me i feel!, nowadays its on 165/80-15 up front and is getting a 406 with megasquirt nitrous (150) for now! built th350 and trying to get the money together to do the top of the 406 solid roller, currently flat tappet.

 

ooo ya you guys will be glad to know that I put the old Racelites on and will NOT be REMOVING my rear brakes!
