axle swap problem with e brake cable

i just swapped in a disc rear out of a 92 z28 25th and the brake cables are long enough to attach to the 2 into one connector but the clips the are on the sides before dont line up they are too farr towards the axle to reach the holes. should i pull the ebrake to pull them forward to meet the holes and put the clips in or do i need different cables?

Sorry, I'm not following the above.

That said, the 1st design cable, used with a tunnel adjuster, is 1434 mm. The second design is 1460 mm. This longer cable was designed for cars with no adjustment provision.
