'88 rear disc defect-cheap easy fix, upgrade?

IIRC the discs in the rear were subject to a recall due to sticking and not working. I confirmed mine are not working.
I think I saw a NOS fix kit but is that the cheapest best action? Due to the fact it's the rear's and not front's I don't really want to dump big $$$ into upgrade there. Yes, I'll do more search and reading, but if you feel like commenting on a simple fix and upgrade is even better. Most threads are about expensive upgrades to not quite as easy to find the cheap upgrade answer I was looking for.
E.g. 89-up is a bolt on to the 9bolt? cheap at the pick and pulls?
4th gens will bolt on?
thanks for any ideas

The 89-up PBR might be the best solution(?)

EDIT: Sorry I just noticed the title of the thread. With the correct 9-bolt backing plates, you can equip your 88 with PBR's. The calipers are virtually the same, 89-97.

That said, though the old-style Delco-Moraine calipers have a bad reputation on TGO, I thought they worked fine. New rotors, pads, braided steel lines all around, perhaps new calipers, and a fluid change and you might be well surprised/satisfied--and at a price you can live with.

Sounds logical. I'm going to pull them and see if I can rebuild them and add new rotors pads and lines as you suggest. I'm not looking for too much from the rears, and don't think I can do much better at low $. Maybe I'll do the same for the fronts
