New Brakes? Possible Rims? Recommendations?

Car: 1991 Z-28
Engine: 5.7L(350ci) TPI L98
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: G92
New Brakes? Possible Rims? Recommendations?
Alright. So I'm considering upgrading all my brakes, I have the 16x8 Aluminum stock rims on my 1991 Z-28.
What are the biggest brakes I can fit inside those rims? Should I go with those size, or buy new rims to get even bigger brakes, or would those be sufficient.
Also, feel free to recommend specific parts/brands/components.
I tried the search function, but I didn't find my specific question, only answers about fitment of LS1 brakes. :/
