LS1 brakes on a LT1 rear end
Does anyone kno how to or a site that's shows how 2 do the LS1 brake swap on a LT1 rear end or the parts. Will 17x11 rims (SLP ZR1) fit it on my 87 iroc. When I do the LS1 brake swap on he front will the 17x9 fit the front with out spacers if not what size would I need. I would think so the LS1 rotor would be a spacer but would it be thick enough.

SLP ZR1 wheels are only 8 inches wide. Real ZR1 wheels are 9 and 11 inches wide I think.
As far as the brake swap goes... there's no reason you shouldnt be able to switch the backplates from one to the other. it may require a little drilling or grinding, not sure, but it's more than possible.

The above said, the LT1 system isn't bad. I don't know that I'd go to the time and expense to swap, but that's only one opinion.

Re: LS1 brakes on a LT1 rear end
Sorry I didn't mention it be4 the 17x11 will go on with a 4th gen rear. So u guys think imma need spacers for the front I wonder if I use 1le hubs ( diff off set they poke out more) I don't want spaces I don't they are safe for the 500 hp tork mark for auto cross and drag. I will be running bf drag radials in the rear 315 35 17
Re: LS1 brakes on a LT1 rear end
You need 2" spacers for the front...i know i have zr1 wheels on mine and you will need to roll your back lip on hour quarter panel. Go with the 17x11 with a 50mm offset

Re: LS1 brakes on a LT1 rear end
LT1 rear rotors are 11.54" x 0.79"
weight - 12lbs
LS1 rear rotors are 12.01" x 1.02"
weight - 15lbs
The LS1 setup is substantially heavier duty. Whether that is good or not is another discussion. For 99% of people, either setup is adequate.
