brake cables

Anyone ever remove the etire rear? I cannot get my E-brake cables off, I have them disconected at the point where its goes fron single to two. Then they are in a bracket on each side of the tunnel, but I cannot figure out how they come out.

Collapse the fingers with a tool made for the removal or with zip ties and then pull the cable through.

Re: brake cables

A line wrench can be used to put pressure on the tabs to release the cable as well.

Re: brake cables

Got them out, used needle nose vise-grips, I will need to get new ones since I am going with a 4th gen disc brake rear. Anybody know if the new cables will fit the 91? the rear is a 2002 SS

If they don't, Ed Miller makes them:
