LT1 brakes on a 87 IROC

Hi, I am thinking of putting a LT1 rear brake set up on my 87 IROC. Has any one done this and any problems to look out for? Ray

They're pretty much the same as the 89-92 brakes. So anything you find that applies to them will be useful to you.

Re: LT1 brakes on a 87 IROC

They are a direct bolt in, and performance is no different from a PBR rear disk in a later thirdgen.

If you had drums you will need to change the proportioning valve or buy an adjustable valve. See the tech articles on this site.

https://www.thirdgen.org/technical-articles

Specifically this one: https://www.thirdgen.org/ls1reardisc

Read ALL of the articles. It contains a great deal of information that is well known on these boards and the articles are a good resource.

The LS style brakes are a little bit different, but what I've always wondered about and haven't seen a good answer for what to do with parking brake lines.
