Front Brake Job, but not the back
Car is an 85 IROC with rear disks. The rear calipers are frozen, and have been since I purchased the car a few months ago. This has put a lot of strain on the front brakes, and soon it will be time to change them.
Recently, the car has started to pull left when braking. I have some braided hoses waiting to go in, but my original intent was to do all four corners at the same time. Unfortunately, I'm waiting on the driver's side parking brake cable to ship (was backordered).
Since I drive the car like a 90 year old (due to the rear brakes not working) do you think I'll put unnecessary wear on the fronts if I go ahead and change them and leave the rears alone until the cable comes in?

Re: Front Brake Job, but not the back
No problem. Go ahead and do the fronts. Once you get in, keep in mind that reman calipers are around $13 each (with core) at AZ and most of the other chains. Doesn't make much sense to fuss about with an old rusted up front caliper.
Make sure you do your wheel bearings while you're in there. If you don't need to replace them, do a real good lube on them.

Re: Front Brake Job, but not the back
Thanks. I'm intending to replace everything. The car sat in a barn for several years (purchased in Feb with 39k original miles). I'll feel a lot better knowing that everything is "new to the car". After that, if there is a problem with the existing equipment, it can only be a few things left that could be problem causing. Should make diagnosis a little easier.

Re: Front Brake Job, but not the back
The front brakes do at least 70% of braking anyway. The best thing i ever did was do the LS1 brakes upgrade upfront. When I did the front brake upgrade I still had rear drums, that doing almost nothing. With the stock brakes up front I went Through three sets of pads and the rears were still new.
