Rear Brake Calipers?

I have an 89 Firebird Formula 350 with 4 wheel disk brakes. I am already having issues with the rear brakes so I am deciding to start to redo the entire brake system. What I am looking for is new rear brake calipers. Something better than the stock brake calipers that are on there. Would prefer something that will bolt onto the stock location with minor fabrication to get them on and at least dual piston calipers. When looking on summit racing, this is where I would prefer to purchase the calipers, but it shows notning for rear brake calipers for the 89 firebird, just front brake calipers so I would need some sort of universal caliper. Would like to keep each caliper around $150 a little more is okay. I am just wondering what calipers will work on the car. It has factory size rotors on there but has 17x9.5 zr1 rims on there. If anyone could give me some suggestions on what would work on the car I would greatly appreciate it.

Your 89 should be equipped with 11.7" rotors and single-piston PBR alum calipers, which are significantly better than the 82-88 version. Perhaps new rotors, calipers (and/or a rebuild), pads, lines, and fluid would put your system up to snuff. If that's not your cup of tea, the following site offers many choices:

Re: Rear Brake Calipers?

I already have that website bookmarked. I am planning on all new plumbing for all the brakes, new brake booster and master cylinder, adjustable proportioning valve, new rotors, pads, fluid, and calipers. I knew i had the pbr calipers already but I am wanting something a little better. Maybe a dual piston caliper for the rear. Thinking of wilwood but cant find anything anywhere that says what calipers will fit on the rear of my car so I am guessing it is going to have to be a universal caliper with some modification maybe. I have emailed wilwood as well as summit to see what response I get as to what will bolt onto my car for calipers. Was just looking for suggestions from people here because I know others have upgraded they rear brakes just wondering what will work on the car. Prefereably bolting to the factory location if possible.
