I need help fast, so the brakes on my 84Z are extremely stiff, and i can hardly slow down very fast. I can still get around town but it's dangerous. One thing, my idle speeds up every time i press on the pedal, which makes me think its a vacum issue of some sort. any help would be appreciated.

Assuming your vacuum hose from the intake manifold to brake booster is intact and sealed, it's time to replace the brake booster. Easy job, don't have to open the brake hydraulics.
