caliper bracket measurement
Anyone got a 10 bolt with iron calipers? I need to know the distance from the end of the tube to the bracket.
I'm putting the brackets on a drum rear end, and I don't want to take a chance that the flange that mounted the drum is the exact same distance from the end of the axle tube as on a actual disc housing.
I also noticed the diameter of the tube appears to be smaller on the drum housing, so apparently I have to find a way to make sure I have true center before I anchor the brackets.

Re: caliper bracket measurement
I have one sitting that should be easy to measure. I can do it when I get home this evening.
If I read it right you want the measure from the end of the axle tube straight back to the disc brake flange?

I just want to make sure I can slide these on and weld 'em up.

Re: caliper bracket measurement
Sorry it took so long to get back with the measurement. The rear I measured from is approximately from 86 10 bolt with the original delco disc calpiers. I used a tape measure as the axles were still in it. I measured almost 13/16 from original disc mounting plate to end of housing and almost 1/4 thick mounting plate. I would presume until I can get the backing plate off amd measure with calipers that it is 1" or 1 1/16". If I was mocking up I would try it as 1" myself with how I measured. Each measure was just before the line, not on the line. Based on first hand knowledge I would say from my measurement that the steel disc backing plate is stamped from 1/4" plate which usually is just barely under.
Sorry I can not get closer but this should get you very close.
