Anyone swap 4th gen front brakes?
I'm sitting here looking at my 4th gen parts car (94) looks like dual piston & much larger rotors. Just wondering how huch stuff will swap from a 4th gen with little trouble & down time?

nothing will bolt on, if thats what you are asking. Any change in rotor or caliper (other than the 3rd gen factory 1le setup) will require you to have the stock rotor/hub cut down into just a hub, allowing you to slide the new seperate rotor over it, then the dust sheild holes in the slindle need to be drilled and tapped to a larger size, and a adapter bracket bolted to the spindle to adapt to the new calipers. some cutting of the factory spindle is needed, but thats the least of yoru worries.
It all can be done, and is done quite often, just requires some tools and some work.

Doesn't sound like a fun project. Guess I'll just try to sell that stuff when I part out the 94

Don't get me wrong I live to play with cars I just don't have the equipment to cut down rotors & I'm not sure what the cost would be to have a shop do it. This is my sons car were working on & I don't have the funds to build him a supercar. Just trying to do what I can with what I've got.

i say just use them, a shop should be able to cut them down at low cost. ls brakes compared to any stock thirdgens is uncomparable and youll thank yourself for spending the extra time on them

I may look into it. I'll see if I have any shops close enough to cut them down. Ov got 3 sets of 3rd gen rotors so I guess it's not a big deal if I can't get it to work.
