2010 camaro brembo brake questions

I have the calipers and z06 rotors and lines. I have the spindle off the car waiting to be modded and brackets made but I need to know a few things.

Do I HAVE to buy 1le rotors to be made into hubs or will my standard rotors work?

Also are the brake lines going to go directly in place or do I need some sort of adapter fitting?

Thanks in advance everyone.

Hi Jeremy,

The Z06 rotor is not suitable for the 2010 Camaro SS calipers. The Camaro pad is taller than the friction surface on the rotor by a good 3/8". You will have major pad overhang.

You can use the 2010 SS calipers on the SS rotor. You will need to use 1LE offset hubs in that case in order to make the brackets an adequate thickness.

The SS calipers use the standard GM M10x1.0 banjo bolts.

Re: 2010 camaro brembo brake questions

So if I ordered thirdgen stainless steel replacement lines they would bolt right onto the brembo calipers?

I'm still trying to find cheap rotors to use as a hub is they're any possible way of using standard rotors as hubs if not why exactly?
As far as I know peole are running z06 rotors with these calipers and say they work great but their is overhang so well see what happens with that for a short time before I can afford new as rotors.

I would not use the OEM lines. The SS Brembos have a downward pointing banjo bolt. I would use a line with 90 degree banjo end.

As mentioned earlier you need to use the 1LE rotor as a hub because you need the extra offset of the 1LE to create enough space between the rotor and spindle for an appropriate thickness bracket.

You can use a normal rotor as a hub but then you would need to slide a spacer between the rotor and hub. I would not recommend doing this for a number or reasons, including cost.

I don't see what the problem is with buying 1LE rotors to cut down? Amazon has them for $35. How much cheaper are you trying to get?

OK I'm gonna run z06 rotors right now since I already have them. As far as lines then will stock 2010 linesmate up to hardlines?
I just ordered perf package rotors for $90 shipped from rockauto. Next cheapest pair for the FRONT IV found was 125 on eBay. That's alot for an item I'm cutting 3/4 of it off is what I'm saying.

I doubt the stock 2010 lines will work. They probably aren't the correct length and probably don't have the correct strut line guide. Not sure on the hardline fitting.

I would get a custom set made.

I got the 1le rotors but shops want 200+ to turn them into hubs. plus studs and bearings and sandblasting and painting. its gonna cost me more than new billet ones online!

PM replied. You situation is a bit unique as you are also using the 2010+ SS wheels.
