OK, I'm tired of searching and finding no real answers. I'm looking at a set of spindles, calipers and rotors from a 99 SS car. I'm currently running the stock 88 spindles w/ S&D rotors and spacers on the front. I have read somewhere that I can do a direct bolt on of the spindles and I can remove the spacers from the equation. ** Correct me if I am wrong please.

Can I do this with the stock A-arms?
If not, can I use the 4th gen A-arms instead?
Details on the mods for the steering would be helpful.

I don't see how this could work because 3rd gen is modified Macpherson strut and 4th gen is SLA suspension.

Would also like an answer to finding a bolt on spindle so I can get some proper brakes on this thing however.

 

You must modify the factory 3rd gen spindle to accept 4th Gen LS1 brakes or C5 brakes. I got my kit from bigbrakeupgrade.com, but have heard good things about kore3 as well. They make some nice aluminum hubs.

 

No spindle options othef than stock, no other spindle will work with redesigning the entire front suspension.

 

Yup they will certainly not bolt on. There are many great brake options on the OEM spindle though.

 

big brake upgrade is the way to go!
