Black Fluid Help?
Possibly someone has some advice?
I bled my brakes 2 years ago after I put in some braided stainless front flex lines in. The fluid was black.
Yesterday I put on new front pads and bled the brakes again just to keep it fresh. The fluid in the Master was black again but the fluid I bled out of the lines was only light golden color. My wife also noticed that the passenger side was harder to push on the pedal than the driver side. Car brakes fine; firm pedal, even braking.
Anything to worry about?
Possibly the fluid in the master went bad faster because I under filled it last time? (I filled to the bottom of the slot in the baffle) This time I filled to almost the top of the baffle so that a wee bit squirted out when I closed the lid back on.

Re: Black Fluid Help?
The black that is in the master cylinder is probably sludge from the brake fluid that has set in there for some time. Just take a bulb syringe and suck all the fluid out of the master cylinder, and take a rag and wipe all the sludge out of the master cylinder and refill it.

According to this article, it can happen over time. Second paragraph under "Air Cooled" heading: http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars...enance/4213448
