Drum Brake Heat

Ok, so I may have made a dumb mistake but let's see.. I decided to paint my rear brake drums with VHT High Temp paint.. It calls for curing at 250 deg, 450 deg and 650 deg.. I have a nice oven with a temperature recorder at work so go for it right.?. Hmm, after the 650 deg cure, the drums on the inside picked up a blue tint fron the heat where they had been turned for new shoes.. The blue is exactly what it should look like for a tempering cure temperature of 650... I let them air cool so did not quench them.. Now the question, did I damage the temper of the steel.??. Anybody know the answer to this off the wall question? Trying to decide if I should trash them and get new...

I would be surprised if they were steel. Should be iron or aluminum. If iron, there is nothing to worry about at 650. Disc rotors operate well above that with no issue.
