LS1 brake swap with GTA wheels, and prop bleed question
Hey guys,
I'm gonna swap over more parts from the 84 to the GTA, long story short, the 84 is so badly rotted that I can't justify trying to save it on the budget I have, the GTA runs and drives and is rot free. I swapped in the T56 already, and now want to swap over the LS1 front brakes.
I have a whole new rebuilt front end on the 84, I'll transfer that all over, along with the 1LE prop valve and LS1 brakes. Question is, and yes I've searched but no one seems to have an answer. What spacers will I need to run to clear the LS1 calipers with the GTA wheels. Eventually I'll run formula wheels and paint the car Gunmetal Metallic, but for now I'd rather stick with the red and gold. Hence needing spacers. From what I've read, it seems these will work. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wi...1961/overview/
Second, can I gravity bleed the prop valve? Or will I need to go through the motions?
Thanks

I gravity bled my prop valve. I tried to bench bleed it but it was a little frustrating. Not saying that it works perfectly, but it does work.

Re: LS1 brake swap with GTA wheels, and prop bleed question
You want to do a full bleed on everything. Now is the best time to push ALL the fluid out and get fresh fluid coming out of each bleeder. Years ago I popped for a Motive power bleeder. I think it was $50 with the attachment for the master cylinder as well as the clutch master cylinder. Wowsers is it nice to use. Pump it up, crack a bleeder and just watch all that dirty cruddy fluid come out til its clear.
But in any case, just bleed as normal IMO.
As for your GTA wheel question. I wasnt aware that the GTA wheels could fit over LS1 brakes. But maybe someone has done it. I would think you'd have to space the wheels out to the point where they'd be weird in the front..no? Im sure someone has the official answer though..
