Do I need a new proportioning valve when swapping drum to disc?

So I'm converting my rear drums to discs via the hawks kit, will everything i need to get them on and working be provided or will i also have to buy a new proportioning valve for the new disc lines?

Most members would agree, I think, that swapping in anything less than a PBR kit (11.7" rotors and alum calipers) is a waste of time and money. You might consider perusing the following site for more options:

For best braking performance you'll need the correct combination valve. Your 90 may have the first or second design tube nut threads. Search for the spring change or info on an adjustable.

It's personal preference but in braking performance I wouldn't think that kit would offer much gain over stock drums. Im sure you could find a rear disc setup for a 4th gen for pretty cheap on ebay which the instal would be pretty simple. And as far as needing a prop valve goes it would be best in any car regardless of brake setup so you can adjust bias to your preference, but it's not entirely necessary.

Go straight for the PBR disks and adjustable prop valve. One of the best (double) upgrades you can do. Even the adjustable valve on its own would make a big difference. Then add the disks when you can.
