Afraid to ask, but, rear discs...

Okay, so I don't have it YET, but I'm eventually going to be getting an '86 TA roller, with the intention of swapping out the 10-bolt to a Moser 12-bolt with Wilwood rear discs with p-brakes.

My question is, if I get a master cylinder out of a TA for four-wheel disc, do I still need a proportioning valve? I know I'd need one if swapping from rear drum to disc, but - as I understand it - that's due to the master cylinder itself. However, I ALSO read that the rear drum MC is apparently a GM-recommended install if you don't like the harder pedal feel from the four-wheel disc MC.

So, in this case, would buying the four-wheel disc MC by itself be sufficient, or would I still need a proportioning valve?

Check the 10-Bolt FAQ for information about master cylinders and combination valves.
