92 10-bolt PBR brakes to 9-bolt with iron calipers

I've searched but can't find a definite answer. I have a 87 GTA with the 9-bolt rear and the iron calipers. I got the complete PBR brake setup from a 10-bolt 92 Camaro. Backing plates, emergency cables all the way up to the handle, etc. Is this a direct swap from a 10 to 9 bolt? I saw something about special backing plates but do I need any if I have the ones from the 10 bolt? Thanks for any help.

Found my answer. The plates can be swapped but have to be re-drilled.

Or you can purchase the correct plates.

Re: 92 10-bolt PBR brakes to 9-bolt with iron calipers

I always thought the 89-92 10-bolt PBR backing plates were a direct swap for the 82-88 Iron Caliper backing plates. WRONG !!

The holes in the 10 bolt PBR plates are already slotted and I didn't feel comfortable drilling out any more material to try and make the "newer" PBR brackets fit the 82-88 Disk Brake axle housing. Drilling a few holes is easy,... being sure the backing plate is centered around the AXLE and the fact that those backing plate holes were already slotted made me decide not to even bother hacking it together.

Here's what I used on my 85. No slots.

I swapped a set of 10 bolt backing plates left to right and re-drilled them for the 9 bolt pattern, no slotting necessary
